Pantomime – Cinderella 26
January 2014
Pantomime (more
commonly known as ‘panto’) is a form of musical drama for
the family.
Traditionally, pantomimes would start on Boxing Day and
run for the next two/ three months.
To keep in line with this tradition, the gents
performed a pantomime entitled ‘Cinderella or
Everything Happens for the Best!’
The gents last
performed a pantomime based on the story of Shrek in 2008,
so it was a welcome return.
And as with all pantomimes, there was a moral
behind this story of Cinderella. The moral was to be like
Cinderella and treat all work as worship and to do it to
the best of our abilities. The shoe teaches us a valuable
lesson – as Swami says, wealth & desire have to be just
right for us. Too much and like a large shoe, you have no
control; too small and tight, then life becomes painful.
Just right and life is full of contentment.
The pantomime was
enjoyed by everyone, adults & children alike. And the
gents have threatened to do another pantomime next
year!!!! So watch out!

the performance!!!!!!
