Thought of the Day from a SSE Student

 

1. Easter Programme

On Sunday 1st April between 9am to 11am at Soar Valley College, we will be celebrating Easter.  We are very fortunate to have Pastor Graham Thomas who will join us and deliver a talk on Easter and its significance. 

2. Ladies Retreat

We are pleased to share with you the invitation for the Region 4 Ladies Retreat which is happening between 21st - 22nd July 2018 at Beaumanor Hall.  As you will be aware, the past Ladies Retreats have been a huge success, and Swami's presence has been felt throughout, and the goal is the same again this year. Places are limited so if you are interested in attending please contact one of the ladies service coordinators. 

3. Human Values Day

One Saturday 21st April we will be celebrating Human Values Day.  Like last year we will be having the Human Values Walk and concert in Leicester City Centre.  New for this year is the Unity of Faiths Symposium happening in the afternoon that day.  Please save this date in your diaries and we will be giving more information over the next few weeks. 

4. Sunday Home Bhajans

We are starting home bhajans from Sunday 8 April. Please see Chotubhai if you wish to add your name to the list. Bhajans are held on Sunday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00. 

5. DBS Checking

Next DBS session will be held on Sunday 8 April to register ALL Teachers/Classroom assistants & Parents who help in classrooms and ALL Active workers & General Volunteers irrespective of which wings they are likely to assist in.

    Ceiling on Desires Feb2018

1. Earth Hour

As part of our Eco-care activities we are holding an Earth Hour which will be on Saturday 24th March between 8.30 - 9.30pm.  Devotees are encouraged to turn off all lights (except candle light) and as many appliances as they can during this hour and perhaps do namasmarana / bhajans / meditation for Mother Earth 

2. Ramnavmi Programme

On Sunday 25th March we will be celebrating Ramnavmi at Soar Valley College between 9am to 11am.  Please do join us for this special occasion

5. Parent’s Study Circle

Today we will continue with our popular Parent’s Study Circle led by Girishbhai straight after bhajans between 10:30 – 11:30am.  Girishbhai is a consultant psychiatrist by profession and brings many good insights into how to communicate with children and understanding children.  We really do this recommend this study circle to all parents.

1. Parent’s Study Circle

2. Lent ~ Ceiling on Desires ~ Food Bank Collection

A reminder to everyone about the Lent and Ceiling on Desires project we’ve been announcing for a few weeks.  The list of items required by the Food Bank and more information is on a leaflet which you can pick up at the Information Desk. 

3. Bradgate Park – Tree Planting Service Activity

Here's your chance to do some outdoor service by planting trees at Bradgate Park.  This eco-care project will take place on Saturday 17th March at Bradgate Park at 9:30am. The meeting place is: Newtown Linford car park, LE6 0HB. The car park entrance is next to the Church (centre of the village). 4. Ramnavmi Programme

On Sunday 25th March we will be celebrating Ramnavmi at Soar Valley College between 9am to 11am.  Please do join us for this special occasion 

5. Kazakhstan medical Camp

The UK Council has announced that the 2018 Kazakhstan medical camp will be held from 29th June to 7th July 2018. Dr Upadhyay is looking for 4 optometrists and 2-3 GPs to join them on this camp. If you are an optometrist or GP who can help, please contact Urvi directly -  urvideepak@hotmail.co.uk for further details. Dr Upadhyay is a renowned Optomologist and has organised many medical camps around the world and is really an amazing person to work with. Please do pass on this information to any relevant medical professionals you know.
